Your Community First Responders

Several new CFRs will be joining us in the coming months.

Hannah Crush

Team Leader & CFR

"I've been a CFR since 2016 and currently the team leader for the group. I enjoy being part of a fantastic group of responders helping their comunity in their time of need. When not volunteering I work full time for South East Coast Ambulance service looking after complex care planning for sick and vulnerable patients in the community"

Community First Responder

"I have lived in Heathfield for two and half years, moving in the middle of COVID. I have spent the majority of my NHS career as a Midwife at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust and now work as a Nurse at the Cottage Hospice in Five Ashes. I am really excited to have been offered this opportunity to train with SECAmb and become part of the team serving the local community."

David de Boer

Community First Responder

"I started volunteering as a vaccination carer for St. John Ambulance and as an NHS Responder during the pandemic. When those roles came to an end I found out about this fantastic opportunity with the ambulance service. During "office hours" I work as a longhaul airline pilot from Gatwick and Heathrow airports"

Andy McGarvey

Community First Responder

"I moved to Heathfield when I was 6 years old, and I have stayed here ever since. After my education at Maynards Green Primary School and Heathfield Community College I started my training as an Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) at the old Kent and Sussex Hospital in Tunbridge Wells.

The training given to me by SECAmb has enhanced the skills I had learned within the hospital setting. I feel that it is a privilege to serve my community in this way. It is rewarding to be able to help my community in their time of need."
