"I have lived in Heathfield for two and half years, moving in the middle of COVID. I have spent the majority of my NHS career as a Midwife at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust and now work as a Nurse at the Cottage Hospice in Five Ashes. I am really excited to have been offered this opportunity to train with SECAmb and become part of the team serving the local community."

"I started volunteering as a vaccination carer for St. John Ambulance and as an NHS Responder during the pandemic. When those roles came to an end I found out about this fantastic opportunity with the ambulance service. During "office hours" I work as a longhaul airline pilot from Gatwick and Heathrow airports"

Andy McGarvey

Community First Responder

"I moved to Heathfield when I was 6 years old, and I have stayed here ever since. After my education at Maynards Green Primary School and Heathfield Community College I started my training as an Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) at the old Kent and Sussex Hospital in Tunbridge Wells.

The training given to me by SECAmb has enhanced the skills I had learned within the hospital setting. I feel that it is a privilege to serve my community in this way. It is rewarding to be able to help my community in their time of need."
